Unlocks after completing Chapter 1-6 in the Main Story. Karma are collectible artwork cards which serve as the foundation of Mr. Love Wiki as almost all gameplay systems require Karma.
The following is the order of karma strength: (strongest) SP ← SER ← SSR ← SR ← ER ← R (weakest)
- N and NH Karma can't be upgraded in any way, except leveling up and do not reward anything.
- R Karma can only reward Moments - nothing else, the first one on obtaining the R Karma, the second on Evolving the R Karma.
- SR Karma usually reward SMS, but also others.
- SSR Karma usually reward Phone Calls, but also others.
- SP Karma do not reward phone interactions and only unlock karma-specific animations and Mind's Quest material (equivalent of a date, see SP Karma below for more).
You can check all unlockable rewards and claim all Karma Promises for starring Up (Rs, SRs, SSRs) or evolving (SPs) by clicking on the bottom right side of the Karma and flipping it over. The top left corner that says 'Go on a Date' will redirect you to the Date, Rumors & Secrets, or Mind's Quest which the Karma unlocks.
There are multiple methods to obtain Karma:

- Sign In Bonus
- 24hr Challenge Store
- Box Office Store
Obtaining any Karma, automatically rewards a Karma-specific Call / SMS / Moment.
Unlocks after completing Chapter 1-12 in the Main Story. Players can use Gold to combine several Karma shards to obtain a whole Karma. The amount of shards and Gold required varies based on rarity as follows:

Due to the importance of Karma in all game modes, strengthening Karma is one of the most recommended ways to improve should a player find themselves unable to progress. There are four ways to improve Karma:
- Upgrade (Leveling Up)
- Star Up
No matter how strong the Karma becomes, the order of attributes from the strongest to weakest never changes. For example: If your Karma is Orange, the strongest attribute will always remain Creativity. The same goes for the second strongest, third strongest and the weakest attribute.

Since most of the Shootings only compete in 1 or 2 Attributes at a time, the Karma with the highest focus on only one or two attributes - will be most effective in the future. Where Karma with stats distributed evenly amongst 3 attributes - will be helpful early on in the game.
The sum of overall stats is about the same for all Karma of the same rarity, level and evolve status.

Since Star Up and Evolve grant percentage based boosts, the difference between the distribution of attributes is palpable only later on when the Karma is close to completion. So the most powerful Karmas are the ones which don't waste the initial stats on the third and last attribute. Note that the Shootings which require 2 Attributes weigh the left one way higher than the right one.

Staring Up is another way to increase Karma stats. Staring Up requires 3 different types of materials acquired from Story stages as well as a fixed amount of Gold depending on the Star Up. In order to Star Up a Karma, the Karma must also have a high enough level.
Each Star up boosts the stats of all attributes to a certain percentage, although it shows as numbers. They automatically adjust depending on your current level and evolve status. The Star Up boost, is not affected by Ascension, it only applies to the initial Stats. So if you Ascend a Karma and unlock some Nodes, the overall Stats for the Karma increase, but the numbers for Starring Up higher don't adjust.
(The numbers in the following table are acquired by leveling up different Karma of all Rarities to the highest level and only then starring up. The percentage is rounded up to give a general idea about the boost.)

The amount of times a Karma can be starred up depends on the rarity of the Karma. The total Boost shows the difference if you compare a completely unstarred-up Karma with a fully starred up one.

The boost to the top 3 strongest Stats is about the same, the boost for the weakest Karma Stat is quite higher than the rest.
Unlocked after completing Chapter 4-21 in the Main Story. There are two evolution systems: one used by Rs, SRs, and SSRs (this section), and one used by SPs (for SP evolution, see SP Karma below). The former type of evolution has the following benefits:
- Increases the Level Cap of Karma
- Applies +45% Boost to all Stats
- Unlocks the second piece of art for that Karma
- Unlocks Karma-specific call / SMS / moment
- The Stars of the Karma will become silver instead of gold:

Evolving Karma is also costly, requiring several of two different drops from Elite missions, Memory Stardust and Gold. SPs have slightly different requirements (again, see SP Karma below for details).

Unlocked after completing Chapter 5-3 in the Main Story. Ascend is another way to strengthen Karma by unlocking additional attribute stats, Karma Frame, Skill, Clothing and Voice. Requires Memory Stardust and a minimum Karma level.
First unlocking Ascend gives an initial boost to all Attribute stats, it's a hidden bonus.

After unlocking Ascend, you can progress through the Ascend Tree with special Ascend material items, which can be obtained from Heart Trial. Also you have the option to reset your Ascension progress of your Karma by spending a fixed amount of Gems.
SP Karma have a slightly different upgrade system than typical Karma. SP Karma have the same number of Star Ups as SSR Karma; however, the Evolve system for SP Karma differs greatly.
First, SP Evolution does not require Memory Stardust unlike other Karma. Instead, SP Evolution requires shards of the SP Karma, which can be obtained by pulling a duplicate of the SP Karma and Karma passing it (80 Shards) or using Refined Shards to convert into an SP Karma Shard in a 1:1 ratio.
Additionally, SP Evolution is split into 10 tiers, each which increase the evolution bonus past the normal +45% as well as potentially increasing the limit level beyond the standard Level 60.
Lastly, SPs do not have normal dates, nor do they reward moments, SMS, or calls. Instead, they have Mind's Quests, which is the equivalent of a date but with extra features unlocked in place of phone interactions when starring up. To unlock an SP Karma's Mind's Quest, a player must unlock up to Tier 4 (160 Shards or 2 SP Duplicates). Beyond Tier 4 is just additional stats and starts to require Wheel of Memory, which can be obtained from Ch. 19+ Elite Stages. A total number of 400 Shards are required (5 SP Duplicates).

ER Karma are a new karma that come with one illustration. One can combine 2 different ER Karmas of the same character to make an SER Karma after fully ascending 2 ERs and using Memory Starlocks. When combining 2 ERs, it is recommended to combine two ERs with the same top 2-3 stats as this potentially makes the resulting SER Karma stronger than an SSR. Once combined, the player will choose which art will be the before and after art for the new SER. Gold can be used to unfuse the SER if needed.
ER Karma can come with Dates or Rumors & Secrets (typically Main Story/Chapter ER Karma have R&S). Free ERs are available through the permanent Cooperation Project, which unlocks after passing Season 2: Main Story 1-1. One of these "Project ERs" can be obtained in ~1 month. Gems can be used as well to speed up the process.
The amount of Memory Stardust given is dependent on the rarity of the Karma.
